Firefox crashed and did not save session
I opened a new tab and was typing when firefox crashed. I then re-opened firefox and tried to restore previous session but I couldn't. The session was not saved and I'm upset that I lost 26 tabs of progress. Is there any way to get these tabs back? Was it saved somewhere? Is there any way to restore to previous sessions that I went back to earlier?

Dear aeip,
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
- Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
- In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
- From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
- Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
- Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
- Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.
You can search your session in search history, witch is Ctrl+H.
Thanks in advance!

What's the shortcut for mac?
Dear aeip,
- (OS X 10.6 or previous) Click the Finder icon in the dock. Your home folder will be selected. In the right side of the window, click the Library folder to open it. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.
(OS X 10.7 or above) Click the Finder icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the Go menu, hold down the option or alt key and select Library. A window will open containing your Library folder. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder. - Open the 5 most recent files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
- Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.
You can search your session in search history, witch is Ctrl+H.
Thanks in advance!

If you use the Time Machine on your Mac then try to restore a previous version of the sessionstore.js file.

Within Application Support, there is no Firefox folder.
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
