I am running ver 32 and I checked the Pref for pdf and it is set to "Preview in Firefox". I did upgrade to ver 32 today and restarted ff but still unable to open in ff.

My wife also has an iMac with the same os, 10.9.4 and her ff works correctly and opens the pdf doc in ff. I checked her ver and it says 31 and it is up to date. ?? It upgraded from 30 when I checked it and restarted ff which is normal.

I really need some help with this. Thanks in advance.

Could you switch the setting for the following plugin to "Never Activate" in case it is conflicting somehow:

  PDF Browser Plugin
View PDF documents within your web browser
  Publisher: Schubert|it

Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Command+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Plugins. You should find it on the right side in alphabetical order.

Does that help?

Thanks jscher2000

I downloaded PDF Download 3.0.0.2 before reading your suggestion and nothing. I deleted the file you mentioned and the problem persisted. So, I disable the PDF Download 3.0.0.2 and PDF Viewer 1.0.277, which I had tried a long time ago and tried it again. Touché, it now works.

I am one who tries something and expects it to work. I am not one to try to find out why it is broken. Not enough patience!

But that is why there are folks like you who fix our screw ups.

Thanks for finding the fix.
