I think you have the latest version of the toolbar, so... Could you check the toolbar list to make sure the Yahoo toolbar is turned "on" there. You can access it using any of these:

  • right-click a blank area of the tab bar
  • right-click the "+" button on the tab bar
  • "3-bar" menu button > Customize > "Show/Hide Toolbars"
  • (menu bar) View > Toolbars

Thank you. I did as you suggested and realized I may have not been clear in my question. The toolbar does display, but not my customized toolbar. Help, again?

How did you customize the toolbar?

Firefox 31 has a problem with moving the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" from the Bookmarks Toolbar to a different bar, if that was one of the changes you made.

I've been using Firefox for awhile and never had a problem with the yahoo bar as I customized it in yahoo. Suddenly, last week it (my customized bar) won't display. I also had problems with yahoo, facebook, etc. being automatically signed out after about 30-60 seconds. I seem to have that issued resolved, however. Yahoo toolbar is turned on in firefox settings and I cannot find anything else in yahoo itself to resolve it. Thanks for your help.

I didn't even know you could customize the Yahoo toolbar. Maybe there is an issue with the extension reading your layout from Yahoo? Do you stay logged in and/or does that make any difference?

It doesn't matter if I stay logged in or not. I've tried signing out, signing back in, refreshing toolbar, etc. I'm beginning to think it's a Yahoo issue.

I am curious if you ever got your issue resolved because I am having the same problem. My Yahoo toolbar was okay 'til about a week ago. I just can't add my own web pages or rearrange any icons. See:

Thanks if you have any suggestions.

I am having the same problem. Until very recently, when I went to "edit toolbar," it would show my Yahoo buttons/icons. Then I could add, delete or re-arrange the buttons. Now, there is only a big, gray X where the icons should be. The Yahoo toolbar displays fine on my home page in Firefox. But all the different icons still say "add" and not "added to your toolbar," even though I had added them previously. I removed the toolbar and re-installed the latest version. But it did not help. The Toolbar is fine. I added the icons in reverse order so they would appear on the toolbar the way I want t5hem. I just can't edit/do anything with the icons.

I ended up getting rid of my Yahoo toolbar altogether and now I'm happy and hassle-free. See:

If you choose to do what I did--go to each page/website you like. Click and move the "www. Globe" in the address bar down to the Bookmarks Bar--"Most Visited" bar. When the toolbar is filled, they will be in the side-bar when you click >> to the right. You can move them around by clicking on their icon. You can delete any by right-clicking. Play with it and you will see.

For bookmarks: Add the Bookmarks Manager App from the 3-bar menu bar at the top right. I exported my Yahoo bookmarks to an HTML file (as backup). Then click on Bookmarks Manager App--click on Show All Bookmarks--click on Import and Backup in Menu Bar--click on Import Bookmarks from HTML. To save a page into Firefox Bookmarks--just click on the star in the toolbar at the top--it will turn blue--click it again to put it into a folder or make a new one. The dialog box also shows you how to edit or delete a bookmark.

I am not a computer whiz so I had to write it in layman's terms.

It is really easier and quicker than the Yahoo toolbar. It looks cleaner too!
