Hi Currently the about:config entry for browser.fixup.alternate.suffix that only lists .com

In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
  3. Search for suffix and doubleclick on the entry to add ",.net, .org"--> CORRECTION: reset the preference instead.

This might not be right however. Was there a shortcut in the linux version that this was enhanced by chance?

Hi guigs2:

I don't know about a possible shortcut in the linux version, but I changed the suffix entry so it reads ".com,.net,.org" as you suggested.

Ctrl-Enter gave me suffix ".com,.net,.org" (made no difference if there were spaces between the commas and periods or not) Ctrl-Alt-Enter gave me ".net,.org" and I don't remember now what came from Ctrl-Shft-Enter.

After trying various with/without spaces in about:config, I finally removed the newer parts of the entry so it was back to the original ".com", and lo and behold, the furshlugginer thing works normally now.

I think I may have got its attention. This may be another example of the first item to try in troubleshooting electronics - pick it up off the table, then drop it back on the table. If it still doesn't work, go on to advanced troubleshooting....

Anyway, it's working again! Thanks....
