How to disable sliding animation of "blocked remote content" message bar?
The latest release of Thunderbird now has a sliding animation of the yellow message bar stating: "To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message "
When I access Thunderbird on the office computer via a remote viewer program like Teamviewer, The screen redraws several annoying times as the notice message opens op, pushing the entire message content window downward. This really slows down the operation.
Most other Thunderbird animations can be disabled, but I can't find a setting that defeats this superfluous "eye candy". Is there a setting somewhere that turns off this animation?
Thanks,
Dave

Does it slide does it? I just open my mail and there is a bar with the message and a button.
Matt,
It definitely does cause the entire message text pane to slide downward, and the Yellow message ribbon gradually expands to full height. I do run my all monitors in portrait mode to accommodate other special programming, so the message text area is pretty much the size of a sheet of paper. I suspect that if the text area was smaller, the sliding would be less obvious.
The computer is a 3.2 GHz 8 core Xeon with an nVidia GeForce 8800 GT graphics card, so it's a reasonably speedy system.
I'd be happy just to totally disable the yellow warning strip entirely. Is there any way to do that?

I'd settle just to turn off the warning message. I'd prefer to keep blocking remote content -- but I don't need to be reminded of it on every single eMail message that comes from a user group like Yahoo.

I was going to try and follow this up for you, but life is just in the way at the moment. I suggest you file a bug in Bugzilla requesting an enhancement to the drawing of the panel. It would be the perfect vehicle re redrawing generally. I am sure that is not the only pane to draw that way.
I agree. That animation is just plain annoying. Mozilla - please get rid of it. Steve

yes, yes,yes
The remote content notification bar drives me nuts:
1. It takes up space in the message pane. 2. I have to deal with it for every single message. 3. Having set the "block all" option, I don't want to be pestered. 4. Surely I should have control of it anyway, on general principle.
Much better would be the option to have a "show remote content" button in the header area or on the toolbar.
Good Thunderbird people, please fix this!
