I cannot send any video files (mp4) even though they are small in size (1-4mb). I try to send them through my gmail account. In the past i could, and there was no problem. The problem is recent. Any help, any ideas to solve this? Thanks George S.

Hello,

I just recently attached a 24mb video via gmail perfectly fine. Can you provide more details on what errors you are experiencing? Do the files not even begin uploading? Or do they upload but stop halfway through?

Thanks for calling. As i mentioned above, i am using firefox and gmail. I try to send videos (.mp4) which are not big in size or duration. For example i just tried to upload a small one, 1.63mb in volume and less than 2 minutes in duration. It uploaded about 70% when it stopped giving me the message in red letters "Attachment Failed" and giving me 2 alternatives. Retry - Help (in blue letters). If i go to Google Chrome, i can do the same process without any problem. Even with much bigger files. Even with 10mb. Before there was no problem with Firefox. The problem is recent. I am using version 32.0.3 I do not know if the problem is purely a firefox problem or a combination of firefox and its Adobe flash or something else. Note: I tried delete cookies etc, the problem is still there. Thanks again. George S.

Try uploading when in Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause. You can try disabling hardware acceleration as well to see if that might be causing it - though I would be surprised if that would affect this.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
