I have windows 8. Firefox will not open on my screen. I click the icon on the task bar, it runs but there is nothing on the screen. When i hover on the task bar icon the thumb nail shows above then when you click it it goes away. You can close from the thumb nail. That is all that happens. Explorer & Chrome load with no problem. I hope you can help with this problem as I use Firefox as my main browser.

Thank You. John.

Hi John, I am sorry to hear that when you open Firefox that nothing pops up on the screen, but if you hover over the Task bar that one of the open windows can be closed from here. Can you click on that window to maximize the window that opens?

What has been recommended in the past is to remove the localstore file from the Firefox profile, as it may have become corrupt [kb.mozillazine.org/Toolbar_customizations_reset_on_startup]. However an easier solution may be to Reset Firefox by starting it in Safe Mode. If you hold Shift and click on the Firefox icon you may do this. Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode , reset the profile from this menu.
