HI Janette74, I understand that downloading and viewing youtube at the same time are contributing to a choppy video play back experience.

This may be due to resources or having many things open. Fix common audio and video issues may be helpful to fix common issues with video, however you can also check to make sure you are not using too many resources that may be affecting your playback.

no, it has not been solved, I never replied from last night, been out of my home. I would like to walk thru this with a phone call, these help items listed by youtube regarding a computer check does not work. Thank you

What did you try so far to solve this issue?


Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
