About 6 months ago, I switched all my devices to Firefox because it was my favorite bookmark system and was the only browser giving a complete syncing experience. As of today none of my firefox devices synch. I have a Mac desktop, a PC laptop and a Samsung S5.

It all started yesterday - I noticed that my Samsung S5 was no longer snycing to my desktop and laptop browsers. (It had not synced in about a week). I googled the subject, and tried all the proposed solutions. I did everything suggested. My best quess was that I had too many bookmarks. I deleted a ton of bookmarks and brought the total down to 2000. Nothing I did - including reinstalling Firefox on my phone seemed to work.

I decided to delete all my firefox browsers except for the one on my pc (which is brand new) and start again. I deleted my original firefox sync account and set up a new sync email account and with my laptop bookmarks exactly right, reinstalled firefox on my desktop. I signed in with my new account. Unfortunately - even though the toolbar shows that I am logged in and synching, there is no syncing taking place. The same problem occurs with my phone.

So - in sum - I've reinstalled firefox on all devices (except laptop) and have a new email accounts but nothing syncs.

hello bif08, when you type about:sync-log into the address bar of your mac desktop and open the latest one or two error logs, can you copy their contents and put them into http://pastebin.mozilla.org/ or a similar service and paste a link here on the forum? this might be helpful in assessing the problem. thank you!

Thanks Phillipp,

Believe it or not, but after going away for an hour and coming back to my desk, everything now seems to be working. Before I sent my help request, I'd waited about 30 minutes, which I thought would be more than enough time for the syncing to take place. I guess it needed more time.

One strange thing that has happened though is that the bookmarks on the desktop (which I had manually deleted and were in my first (now discarded) firefox "sync account" have reappeared. Not a huge problem because now that everything is synced, deleting it is working across all 3 devices.

Anyways I'm hoping that everything stays working and as per your suggestion I've included the last two error logs below. Thanks for your help.

Try to disconnect from Sync and reconnect.

You may have to verify that the signedInUser.json file in the profile folder is removed and also the chrome://FirefoxAccounts in the Password Manager.

Make sure that the Password Manager is working properly.

Thanks Cor-el,

I just want to verify that you are suggesting I make these changes even though everything is working as per my second email?

FYI - as per your suggestions. On my mac desktop - I found the profile folder for firefox under "application support" and did not find any folder called "signedinuser.json"

However on my PC laptpp - I did find the file called "signedinUser.json" in: /.../AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profile. Are you saying I should delete this file?
