I have been using Firefox for years and already have many passwords saved. However, one of the recent updates it stopped working to SAVE new passwords. The old ones still work though.

If I go into >Options >Security the CHECK BOX for saving passwords is grayed out. I went in to Add-ons and either Disabled or uninstalled all new add-ons, and looked for the "Remember Passwords" that someone mentioned and I do not have that installed but STILL it will not save any new passwords??

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

The "Remember Password" extension that shows in the System Details list has been reported to cause issues with the passwords disappearing, so if you have this extension then remove (uninstall) it.
