Mozilla Firefox is my best browser.I love surfing on Firefox, but from few days i am having an issue with it. When i open my firefox ,I am automatically redirected to http://search.sidecubes.com/?st=pr&q= ,but my homepage is set to google.I don't know why this is happening, I don't have any unwanted addon's and plugins and i also don't have any unwanted software in my pc. I have also checked in the Mozilla firefox>properties>shortcut tab>target, but it is also set to "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe".I don't know why this is happening,Mozilla should add an inbuilt add-ons for the popups that try to install software and malware whic infects the pc and change the homepage in the next update. Please help with my homepage issue. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, please try working through Remove SideCubes Search (Virus Removal Guide) by Malware Tips.

Note that not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.

After removal you may need to reset your home page, search etc., which you can do by running the add-on SearchReset.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Hi Scribe, Thanks for your answer. I have tried the hitman pro software and the homepage was back to google.Firefox should add an add-ons which hijacks it in the next update. If it will add this kind of addons it will the no 1 browser,Anyways thanks scribe for your helpful answer.

The fastest way to solve the problem is to type about:support you will get a page “Troubleshooting information”, and you will see the “Reset Firefox” option in the right side of the page but you will need to re install some of addones you have download again.

I can give instructions to manually clean the virus from the pc but it will take me long time to write them in the end what ever tou decide just tell me.

Did you install - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ - as Scribe advised? That extension was created to attempt to undo the prefs that are usually changed by a "hijack". But it ain't gonna work if the "source" of the hijack wasn't completely removed. One Firefox restart and the "hijacker" may just reinstall itself.

Really? You think that Firefox should hijack everyone's browser to solve a "user induced" malware hijack that affects a small number of users?

Firefox 41 [due to be released in just over 3 weeks from now] will include mandatory "signing" for add-ons in an attempt to keep users from self-infecting their browser via dodgy programs that they install, which carry hidden malware "extensions" that then install into Firefox the next time they open Firefox. If it ain't signed, it won't install.

If the other one is searching for a solution all over the net is not good to pressure him more i did describe how these type of viruses work in here

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1075365?page=2#answer-774580

and how to use the norton 360 to clean up the hard disk and the registry in here:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1075365?page=2#answer-774642

but once they are installed in firefox and and in ie he must clean them manually finally is nice to give detailed instractions how it ca be done without a use of any tool somewere to finish with this type of problem once and for all.

Sorrrrrry, didn't mean to "step on" a thread that the new resident-expert on all matters concerning Firefox, who's been around (what?) a week now, thinks he "owns".

Sorry the-edmeister i was meant to say that firefox should add an in-built add-on (like the uc browser) which blocks those annoying popups which cannot be closed and they try to force install the software and malware in the pc.Thanks for your reply.
