Why can't I set each bookmark how to open (separate tab or window)?
Every time I open a bookmark, I always have to indicate whether to open in same tab, new tab or new window. My choice is always the same for any given bookmark. Why don't you provide the capability to select which option to open the bookmark in each bookmark properties? That way, a simple click on the bookmark and it opens exactly the way the user wishes -- without all the extra click nuisance.

You can use the Ctrl + Click to open a bookmark in a new background tab. And Shft + Click for a new window with "focus".
As far as doing it automatically for each specific bookmark, you'd have to look for an add-on for that type of feature.

You can hold the Shift key to reverse the default focus/background setting.
There are three prefs, accessible via the about:config page, to control the focus if you click a link (open link in background or foreground).
- browser.tabs.loadInBackground (normal links)
- browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground (javascript)
- browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground (bookmarks)
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
Thanks but that doesn't establish individual defaults for each bookmark. Some bookmarks I want by default to open in a new window. Other bookmarks I want by default to a new tab.
I've made a request for a new feature.
