I am running FireFox 35.0.1 on Windows Vista. I am unable to locate the Downloads button / Blue arrow.

Do I need to enable it? If so, how do I do this?

Thank you.

When you first install Firefox, the arrow is normally one of the buttons on the main toolbar. At this point, perhaps it is on another bar, or on the overflow list (look for a >> button on the toolbar) or not on any bar.

You can use the Customize feature to move buttons between bars or add them from a the collection of unused buttons. There's also a Restore Defaults button to reset the toolbars if things are seriously broken. This article has more info: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

Can you get it back?

Note: If you use any extensions that create/restore an Add-ons bar at the bottom of the Firefox window, check that, too.

Also, why Firefox 35?

Version 35 is not secure; Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release. Is something holding you back from upgrading to Firefox 41? Please let us know so we can suggest solutions or workarounds.

If you delayed because a video downloader or similar add-on wasn't compatible with Firefox 36, those should have been updated a loooong time ago.

Thank you for your replies! I just found it and was coming back to post when I saw your replies.

The Download button had been moved to the Bookmarks Toolbar, and I do not normally have that displayed. As it had already been moved to a toolbar, it was not available on the Customize menu - and why I could not find it. Once I moved it from the Bookmarks Toolbar back to the Customize Menu I was able to again 'customize' and move it up to my toolbar (URL, search, etc.).

You were correct - it was on another toolbar.

re: Why 35? I recall there were a number of GUI changes made, way back when, and quite a few grumblings regarding the changes. That was the reason I stayed with FF 35. I got this version to a point where I was happy with the interface, with one exception, and decided to stick with it for a while. I am embarrassed to tell you how long I looked for this solution. ha!

re: Version 35 is not secure - they all not secure, but you get to a level of security you are comfortable with, (bad grammar, I know). I usually run with plugins to prompt for Flash execution, Ghostery. and a toggle for animated GIFs. Cant stand the flashing crap.

I guess now that the final annoyance has been eliminated, it is time to look at updating.

Thanks again.
