When I telephoned PO broadband on the 14th they said they were doing maintenance and the problem would be fixed by early evening. However two days later it has not been fixed. I can send out via their web mail and windows mail but not via Thunderbird. I spoke to POBroadband this morning and they are blaming Thunderbird. I can receive e-mails via Thunderbird now, but could not until the evening of the 15th. I have tried all the suggestions in Mozilla help but nothing works.

There were similar problems in 2013 when PO Broadband changed their lines from BT to Talk Talk. This time even the help centre staff did not realise the extent of the problem until the calls started to come through. Has anyone else got this problem?

The info here: https://account.pobroadband.co.uk/SelfCare.UI/ContentManagement/FAQs?topic=UsingEmailClient#045 appears to be up to date. How do your smtp settings compare with what's given there?

For Outgoing:

a. Under Server hostname, type in smtp.pobroadband.co.uk. b. Under Port, type in 587 c. Under SSL, ensure that STARTTLS is displayed d. Under Authentication, ensure that Normal password is displayed

For Username, type in your full email address (yourname@pobroadband.co.uk or yourname@mypostoffice.co.uk)
