We have created a desktop icon to open up a website, www.samplewebsite.com with Firefox. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" www.sameplewebsite.com/.

Well sometimes it opens up the website and sometimes it opens up just a new tab page. We have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it from mozilla to make sure we had the latest version. Still same issue.

If you are wishing to use a link as an example try using example.com that is what the site is for.

You have a typo in your last post as you show samplewebsite.com & sameplewebsite.com

Is the problem due to typos in the shortcut you are using. Have you considered just setting a homepage, or bookmarking the website you are interested in.
