Was reading the list of changes in 45.0 and found that there was no reason to increase the version. I had to stop using my antivirus because of it stopped supporting Thunderbird because you change versions too often.

One of the good things about Thunderbird is that new major version Releases of Thunderbird has a long period of months compared to say Firefox. Thunderbird is every seven versions (in ESR release fashion) and updates are say for eight updates each Release version.

As you can see Firefox releases are more frequent compared to Thunderbird. https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/ https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/releases/

Thunderbird 38.0.1 came out June 11, 2015 while Thunderbird 45.0 was released April 12, 2016. Still think that is so often?
