Hi, no it's not part of Firefox. You have 2 suspect add-ons that might be the culprit, so open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Extensions, and disable or remove Search For Fire fox 2.0 and Search and New Tab by Yahoo 1.1.4. (I suspect that Search For Fire fox 2.0 is much more likely to be the one causing your issue).
I would do a search for them in your PC's search box, and look in Programs, in case they are also installed on your PC.
You could also try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Note that not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
