Several times a day, Thunderbird crash but I get no error code.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try the following:

  • Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.

Can you check under Help -> Troubleshooting Information and see if there are recent crash reports?

Here is more from me:Help and Troubleshooting a crash report, but it only shows 2016-10-25=20 crash and several in the past. I've probably had 30-40 such crashes here=20 now since last spring! Nor may no warning or error message when it happens!

Hello and thanks for all the help with my problems with Thunderbird. After doing that Matt said: "Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode)." it seems to work! Got also afford to send a Mozilla Crash Report, but this is not possible because there is a common crash where I get up a menu for such a report! What has happened is that the program Thunderbird just turn off and must be restarted. Possible test in an outgoing email has since disappeared and must be rewritten again! But as I said, now it has not happened for several days, so Thunderbirds Safe Mode seems to work. Guess I automatically remain in this fashion !?

You should figure out which of the add-ons it is that is causing the problem.

Start Thunderbird with add-ons turned on, then go and disable them all. Then enable one of them and use Thunderbird for awhile and see if it crashes. If it doesn't, then disable that add-on and enable another add-on, and test for awhile.

Keep going, testing only one add-on at a time, until you identify which add-on is causing the crashes. Once identified, uninstall that add-on, then you can enable all the other add-ons again.

How to get to the Add-ons Manager: Thunderbird menu: Tools: Add-Ons (If you cannot see the Thunderbird menu, press the Alt key or F10 key on your keyboard to show the menu)
