How do I have Thunderbird automatically save all attachments of a specific file type (.mobi, for example) to a folder instead of me having to do it manually?
I receive a lot of .mobi files. I'd like to be able to have them saved automatically to a folder when they come in, but I don't see a way to filter them to do that. Right-clicking each one and doing a 'save as' can be time-consuming, as is using the menu Message, Attachments, Save All selection since that works on a single message only. (Note: I have a dedicated email account for that.) Any suggestions?

It's possible to automatically detach or save attachments, but not for specific file types. First, install FiltaQuilla to add these options to the filter Actions. You may be able to add other criteria such as From particular senders or Subject contains certain words to restrict the filter to messages with mobi attachments.

This worked beautifully! Thank you very much for this!
