I changed my Google password. Now my Thunderbird won't accept the new password. I don't remember what the old password was, so I can't change back. Help?

We had received an alert from Google on my wife's Thunderbird account. We share the same Google account, but have different email accounts on Thunderbird. Anyway, the alert advised that we should visit the Google site, log in to our account, and update/change what ever needed to be changed for our security. Our password for Google had not been changed in some time, so I changed the Google password. Now, whenever I try to change the password in Thunderbird, I get a message saying that it was not accepted. Any suggestions? Any help at all would be very much appreciated. Thanks, owa

If you still can access the Gmail account via the Webmail (your browser) it is Ok.

Just make sure TB is updated since there were issues with older versions.
