1. Comodo certificate imported and on the list of certificates. 2. Enigmail and GNU PGP installed. 3. Account settings -> Security -> Digital Signing - set with the correct certificate. 4. Error with sending signed message: "Sending of the message failed." 5. Sending works without signing.

What do I do wrong? Please help.

1. Comodo certificate imported and on the list of certificates into Your Certificates in the Certificate Manager. Private key not imported, because I need only digitally sign outgoing messages, not encrypt them.

Into which tab? Did you also import the private key?

2. Enigmail and GNU PGP installed.

Why? If you want to use S/MIME with certificates you'll neither need Enigmail nor Gnupg.

4. Error with sending signed message: "Sending of the message failed."

Is that the entire error message? Please describe what options you set wrt signing/encrypting messages.

Private key not imported, because I need only digitally sign outgoing messages, not encrypt them.

You do need a private key for signing outgoing messages. You do need the recipients public key in order to encrypt messages.

I'm not sure why you marked your post as 'Solution' for this topic.
