Firefox recently upgraded to the most recent version and has the new "Quantum" tab style. I really don't like this new style. The width of the tabs are greatly reduced which doesn't give me enough space to read the title of the page in the tab (I tend to have a lot of tabs open in a single window). The speed at which the mouse wheel scrolls through the tabs has also been greatly reduced. I'm also not a fan of the new white text on a black background look. I much preferred the way tabs were handled before this new rollout. Is there any way to get the old look & feel back?

There is no traditional way to go back. When you click the Firefox Icon in the Task Bar it shows the Full Name there. This is even more than what is shown in the old Tabs. So I can not see Why you have a issue. Many ways to do the same thing.

You can try : Here's a more comprehensive project which affects not only tabs but brings back the old "grid-style" options menu. https://github.com/axydavid/FirefoxUI/blob/master/README.md

It isn't completely possible to use the Australis design with Firefox 57, but depending on what you want, you might be able to customize the UI to look more like the old one: This project: https://github.com/wilfredwee/photon-australis lets you have the old tab bar appearance back in Firefox 57. You can remove the space around the address bar by right-clicking on the spaces, and choosing "remove from toolbar".

Note the Black Theme is just a Example and can be found in Customize.

My issue is that I tend to have a lot tabs open and that with the new update it is no longer practical to navigate through them quickly. I need wider tabs so I can see more of the title there to tell what the page is. I also need faster mouse wheel scrolling so I can skip past lots of tabs. The projects you posted don't seem to help with that.

Going back : unfortunately 56.0.2 is no longer safe to use for every day use due to security issues, but 52.5.0 ESR is! It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after May 2018.

You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Why not make the ability to change the width of tabs in firefox, it's very simple!
