Not all bookmarks are displayed under "Open history, bookmarks, and more" - "Bookmarks." There is a scrollbar, but not all bookmarks.

Folders are ignored - the links are still visible in the list.

For example, if you search for youtube in "Manage bookmarks" and cut out the results and place them in a folder, they will be copied rather than cut (doubled, even though they have been marked brighter).

Are you sure that your bookmarks are actually missing? Just because you can't see your bookmarks & folders using a toolbar button that has always showed them in the past doesn't mean your bookmarks aren't there.

There are two Bookmarks buttons in Firefox 57, the button on the toolbar ("Library") after the update does not show then all and shows no user created folders; the button sitting in the Customize palette ("Bookmarks Menu)" is the one that shows them all,

Please open the Bookmarks Sidebar using {Ctrl + B} and see if all your bookmarks and folders appear there.

If so,

  • Click on the 57 library icon library icon and go to bookmarks > bookmarking tools > add bookmarks menu to the toolbar.
  • Then you click the Bookmark Menu icon (star on tray) icon that's newly appearing on the toolbar, you'll get to the same bookmarks menu like in earlier versions...

Also if you cut them out etc. even they are older, suddenly they show up as the "last added bookmarks". That is wrong, I just organized them and did not change the date of their initial adding.

As I said, they are _NOT_ MISSING/DELETED but I cannot scroll through the bookmarks, I have to MANAGE them (or whatever it is in english, I have German version) and then I can click and find them. But only that way.

    I have Firefox 59

ctrl+B does work, thanks but it is not as good as Internet Explorer and also Does not come up when I click on the top menu bar. I get a menu where I can go to bookmarks, but here not all are shown. The sidebar menu does not pop up as standard, so how can I change that?

The bookmars are ALL in the left sidebar menu, yes.

Not sure what a 57 library icon is, tho. I dont see any icons in this sidebar.

I dont have used any older versions of firefox, I used Internet Explorer and it was so much simpler and streight forward, I am a bit lost on this program because it does strange things and everything needs an addon which was all integrated into Internet Explorer. All those functions are not in this browser that I need, I hope it will get better and more user friendly over time. I have informed Mozilla about those bugs already. But thanks for this work around. Please tell me where this 57 Icon is/should be.

thank you so much for your answer, looking forward on solving this issue. Hope there will be an update soon.

    OH UPDATE

There is a icon similar to a book next to the "book shelf" icon, that brings up the sidebar with bookmarks. I did not know that.

BUT: What about all the other bugs, when will they be sorted out ad how can I help them to make it better? They cant be serious on this when I cut it out ans it copies, that is a serious bug playing with the data of users in a non professional way. :(
