Spam emails have an alt text which is a link but it is strikedthrough
Hi,
I have an email(for any email client) that is in junk, so the images do not load in the mail but the alt text corresponding the image loads, It is a alt text which is also a link, but I see that the alt text is striked through. Is this a known issue? I have attached a screenshot for the same. I checked other browsers too but don;t see the issue. Please help me figure out the reason why that might be happening?
Thanks, Aanchal

Attached the screenshot of firefox browser where the gmail email client is opened and the issue can be seen is of mail in spam folder
Email providers these days do not show the images from unknows and especially in your spam box. When it shows images or you turn the option on which you can the spammer knows the email has been looked at and will send you more spam. Also if it is a link they will scrub the links for the same reason as if you click on it the spammers will send you more spam as they know you have looked at it and in worse case you have clicked it and it is hidden code and you just gave yourself malware/virus.
When you move the email back into your Mail folder then they will ask do you want to show images. At lest that is how yahoo works, tend not to bother with my gmail account.
Yahoo scrubs alt out also.
I hope that explains why everything is scrubbed and why you should not click on junk email.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
