  • 1 masɔmasɔ sia le esi

It is a problem with something attempting to redirect me on firefox, it doesn't switch to that tab, but I am concerned it may be something dodgy.

Sorry, but at what point is the redirect? For example:

  • After the results page loads, Firefox is trying to load a different page immediately
  • After clicking a link, Firefox is trying to load a different site
  • Something else?

Also, can you see the other URL in the address bar and, if so, do you notice any pattern?

One possible culprit would be an extension. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything search-related, or suspicious, or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?

It seems to be after I click link, sometimes firefox stops it and pushes it to the side, but it is getting more common to redirect to a page I don't want. One is called eversales, space . It getting more regular now, and there is nothing in my addons

Are you using your regular site to get search results or might that have changed? You can double-check your settings on the Options page:

Change your default search settings in Firefox

If that is normal, could you check your connection settings on the Options page:

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

In the search box at the top of the page, type proxy and Firefox should filter to the "Settings" button, which you can click.

The default of "Use system proxy settings" piggybacks on your Windows/IE "LAN" setting. "Auto-detect" can lead to a flaky connection. You may want to try "No proxy".

Any difference?

Thank you jscher2000, I tried the first recommendation but couldn't find the culprit, one page that tries to open is eversales and I think this is the url of the other: http://eversales.space/%d0%b1%d0%b5%d0%b9%d1%81%d0%b1%d0%be%d0%bb%d0%ba%d0%b0-18crr81-cerruti-3/goto/?to=http%3A%2F%2Fr.srvtrck.com%2Fv1%2Fredirect%3Fyk_tag%3D49_1e_de_6e8f_52189x7999x%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Ftalktalk.co.uk%26source%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Feversales.space%252F%2525d0%2525b1%2525d0%2525b5%2525d0%2525b9%2525d1%252581%2525d0%2525b1%2525d0%2525be%2525d0%2525bb%2525d0%2525ba%2525d0%2525b0-18crr81-cerruti-3%252F%26api_key%3Dabbc5236946676eae219a734c0a1c5e8%26site_id%3Dbde63734a8be4fd29b4e75a9831d9fb6%26type%3Durl

So the problems would seem limited to the email provider your logged from? And what do you mean sometimes happens in google searches? What kinda google search are you doing?
