Problem downloading folder from Synology NAS file Station. No issue downloading single file, only for Folder, synology will prompt download failed. There is no issue on Chrome, IE or Edge.

Previously no issue with Mozilla. Not sure whether due to Synology DSM updates or Mozilla updates. Using Mozilla Version 68.0 (64bit) as of raising this.

Synology NAS file Station - is that connected "locally"? Like on your intranet.

IOW, it uses a local IP address and not an HTTP/S IP address.

The NAS is connected on Local LAN and with DDNS setup on the NAS and with necessary port forwarding/firewall policy configured to allow users from the Internet to login the NAS via https:\\ds.mydomain.com:xxxx and access the DSM File Station to upload/download.

This was working ever since the NAS was setup (about 3 years running) until recently and not sure which updates or patches resulted this unable to download issue.

Tried on various different PC/Laptop with newly installed Mozilla and on different internet connection resulted the same issue.

Thank you.

Concerning this issue i opened a synology ticket with access to my NAS. They didn't find anything wrong. It must be definitely a Firefox problem! The error only occurs when trying to download folders, no matter if in my local net or via internet. Other browsers work like Firefox did before for long time.

Same here. Works with other browsers, even MS Edge. Downloading a single file from Synology vie Internet needs several attempts to work. Downloading a ZIP-file doesnt work at all.

I assume that Synology NAS station needs to assemble this ZIP archive when multiple files are selected and that there are permission issues with accessing the location where this assembly is done. If it is done internally on the NAS station then it should always work. If the file are transferred to another location (local hard drive) then this can fail because of security issues.

Any error messages in the Browser Console?
