I have 3 email accounts, 1 hotmail and 2 gmail that I manage through thunderbird and for some time now thunderbird will hang over and over while saying it is downloading x of xxx emails from one of the gmail accounts. It's always the same account and each time it tries to redownload hundreds of of messages while hanging or getting very poor performance/responsiveness. Something is obviously bugged. Is there a way to fix this?

Matt made a suggestion yesterday that Might help: Try Repairing the Problematic Gmail account's Inbox.

Right click on the Inbox folder

Select Properties

On the little Panel that pops up: Click the Repair button.
