Thunderbird disappears from the "dock" (or Mac screen menu) when I close the computer down.

I recently downloaded T-bird to replace Outlook on my Mac laptop, running OS 10.12.6

T-bird is great, but even though I've opted it to be the default email provider, every time I shut the computer down it disappears and I have to re-download. How can I get it to stay in the system?

If I select "hide T-bird" and do other stuff, or put the Mac on "sleep", I can retrieve T-bird email. But if I need to close down, it disappears from my dock. I've created folders to save certain messages but they are lost when I re-download. T-bird it remembers my e-addy and password when I try to re-download, so I know it's in there somewhere.

All I want is for T-bird to stay active like other programs, including Firefox, MSWord, etc. after shutting down and restarting. What am I doing wrong? Or not doing right?

Are you using any APP to hide your applications??

Open Thunderbird Application, Right click the T-bird application while on DOCK and choose, keep in DOCK. Now restart your system and check whether you can see the T-bird icon or Question Mark in that place.

Hi, In MacOS applications can run from any where. Make sure your moving the Thunderbird to Application folder.

After you turn on the system, are you sign in to thunderbird, like newly installed?

What is your additional feedback ??

No, the problem is not solved. Maybe I have not it made clear. It's simply this: Thunderbird disappears from the "dock" (or Mac screen menu) when I close the computer down. It stays if I select "hide Thunderbird" if I put the computer to sleep, but is gone when I shut down.

This did not happen when I used the old Outlook. I have selected the option to "remember T-Bird" in the start-up, but that doesn't make any difference.

It's probably a simple fix, and I am a computer simpleton.

There's no "right click" on a Mac, but I held the cursor down, up popped "Options" with "Keep On Dock", just as you said. I haven't restarted yet, but if this doesn't work I will let you know.

Many thanks! It's nice to learn something new every day....
