Hi there,

I was wondering for the past few months if there is maybe someone at Firefox DEV/UI team who so much hates the Close multiple tabs menu item, that slowly but surely is getting to disappear?

  1. In the good ol days there was a separate menu item Close Tabs To The Right under the tab right click menu. Which was very useful and I used it a lot.
  2. Then this developer/designer from above, or some political committee decided that to remove that one and to put it as a submenu under a new menu item Close Multiple Tabs. That was outrageous, but I said well, maybe they have some weird reason behind this change so I should probably get used to the new version. In the end the Close Tabs To The Right menu item was still first in the list.
  3. Then since last week or two, I realized that this evil entity above decided to set the Close Tabs To The Right to be the second one in the list under the submenu! And this is too much! I've made like countless mistakes of closing the very important tabs on the left for the past few days by just wrongly assuming I'l clicking the right submenu item.

So guys and gals or aliens or whatever you are, what are you trying to do? Ruin the browser on purpose?

I'm using the Firefox for decades as my main browser, but it is getting worst and worst with every new release. And the reasons to still stay with it are diminishing. Which is sad...

Hi, I think that the best option for you is to install this addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/close-tabs-right

@TyDraniu Thanks, I knew it, to be honest :)

No, I don't want to install yet another add-on for a feature that should be there by default!

Why they removed it? What's the reasoning behind it? Why they switched the order? Did they made some research first? If yes, where is the data of that research?

I don't remember that, but I've seen mockups of this submenu years ago. Now it looks like on plans: Left/Right/Others. Apparently the order hasn't been switched, they just added two additional options that wasn't there before. If you read from left to right, this is the only possible order of this submenu.

Please prepare for more changes, a whole UI is going to be changed in the next two versions.

I too have found this seriously disturbing. I am not against the close tabs to the left, but why change the order? Messing with our muscle memory/user comfort. They talk about all they have done for people who lose data or make mistakes by clicking (loss of my backspace actually going back, yeah, I know how to fix it and did), but then they go and do this??? I've lost a lot more data and info from this than the backspace. This is not an improvement, it's a disservice.

I am with the OP, really losing my love of using FF.
