Sent tabs do not open when Firefox is opened. Android.
Hi everyone,
I have a problem (I guess) with sending tabs on android. As I understand the help-articles it is supposed to function like this: I select one or more tabs on my old device, tap on the share button, select my new device and after some seconds once I open Firefox App on the new device the tabs sent should appear.
So far the theory. I'm logged into both devices, all synced, but the expected behaviour doesn't show. All I get is a notification for every single tab received but when I open the App they are not there. They only open, when I tap on the notification, one by one. On my old device however, notifications are turned off. So as I tried to send the other way around nothing happened.
How do I fix this issue? It's most annoying. Please help.
(Oh and sent Facebook tabs open in my facebook app instead of Firefox when I tap on the notification - wth) Btw. I do have the latest versions installed. Old device is Galaxy S7 with Android 8 and new device is Galaxy S10 with Android 11.
Thanks in advance!

Hi
If you tap the tabs icon on the toolbar in Firefox for Android, and they select the synced tabs icon, you should see the tabs that you have sent across.
Thanks for your quick reply. By synced tabs icon - do you mean that one with the laptop and landscape phone? If so, then I see a list of all open tabs on my old device already. So if the tabs open there, what's the point of sending tabs if it's the same as synching? Did I misunterstood the should-be-procedure I recited above then? Thing is, if I tap on the notification it opens as normal tab and not as synched. If I have a lot, thats gonna be quite annoying tapping on every single one. And being in the synced tab folder it's prone to Information loss, when e.g. the old device is reset. I'm really confused about how it's supposed to work and what the difference to synching is then.
Thanks in advance!
Apologies, my mistake.
If you send a tab to Firefox for Android from Firefox on your desktop, you should see a notification appear. Tapping that notification should then open that tab in Firefox for Android.
Oh no, it's not sent from desktop but android to android. I hoped this would be an easy way to continue where I stopped on my old phone. Just sending tabs to the other and poof all tabs on my new phone. Sorry, I may have not made it very clear what I meant...

Hi
But again, you should still see the notification of the new tabs arriving on your new device.
Do you have Tabs set as an item to be synced in Firefox Sync?
