Hello, I am at a loss to trying to fix a problem after extensive troubleshooting. When I am on Facebook for about five minutes, Firefox stops loading most images. This only occurs with Firefox, not Safari or Chrome. And it only occurs with Facebook and Instagram, which is owned and run by Facebook. I have to restart Firefox to get images back and then after five minutes or so, it happens again every time. Can anyone help? This is driving me crazy!

Thank you

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem,

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

While you are in Troubleshoot(Safe) mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

Do you use the Facebook Container extension?

Nothing like that

If images aren't loaded then you should see this in the Network Monitor. If there aren't such messages then the images might be blocked otherwise (extension).

Are you possibly using the Facebook Container add-on or content blocking extensions ?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for related messages about blocked content.

This only occurs with Facebook.. NO OTHER WEBSITES, No blocking extensions being used, no purple shield. No messages about blocked content.The images are NOT BEING BLOCKED. They do load at first, but after using Facebook for around 10 minutes, the images then start to not load. When I restart Firefox, the whole process happens over again. Images load fine for awhile, and then start to not load.

Same issue here. I have even made a clean install... after a little time it starts again not loading images (even the ones from stories and from profile pictures). I have NO PLUGGINS NOR EXTENSIONS. I have also tried the troubleshooting mode, same thing. The weird thing is that sometimes it loads without issues.

Does shift-clicking the Reload button (or using Command+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows/Linux) help restore the ability to display images? Note that this reloads the page back to its original state before you scrolled the feed, and if the problem is triggered by the amount of content loaded into the same tab as you scroll, then you would expect to get the same problem again after some time in that tab.

I have the exact same issue; Firefox loads FB images for a few minutes, and then nothing. I have disabled all my extensions, clear the cache etc, and it just keeps repeating the cycle. It's gotten to the point of being unusable and beyond frustrating, and I'm about ready to just make the move to Chrome.

Go to settings, search for cache, clear your cache, reload Facebook. Worked for me today.
