I got a new PC and set my accounts up but forgot to transfer over my address book, so I did that yesterday. When I went to the Local Folders (now called little blue filing cabinet) a whole bunch of folders had appeared that weren't there before. Most of them allowed me to delete them, but after closing Thunderbird and going back in, all the files again appeared. Does anyone have an idea how I can make them go away?! Any advice would be gratefully received. Lesley

You got your new PC and set up our accounts. I think that is where things went badly wrong. Your attempt to get the address book has resulted in Thunderbird "thinking" that everything on your hard drive in the folder "little blue filing cabinet" and it;s sub folders are folders to be displayed in Thunderbird.

Rather than try and untangle this, I suggest a clean start using the old profile folder, which I am assuming you copied in your attempt to import your address books. Am I correct you have a copy of your old profile folder from your old machine?
