Hi Folks! I'm facing some annoying issues when I send, answer or forward a e-mail.

Well, let me explain:

I have a work e-mail redirected to a Gmail account, so ALL messages are redirected to Gmail inbox. When I use Gmail webmail, the default address to send, answer and forward messages is the work e-mail, so, I don't need worry about it... Always my messages are send using my work account!

BUT

When I use the Gmail account in Thunderbird, it ALWAYS use gmail to send messages. I already tryed delete the Gmail SMTP server and keep only the work SMTP server, but even that Thunderbird finds a way to send as Gmail. So, to send my messages by work e-mail, I need keep both accounts configured in Thunderbird (Gmail and work), and change the send account EVERY SINGLE TIME I send, answer or forward a message.

I could use some other program, as Microsoft Email, but I don't want it... I want continue using Thunderbird, but fixing this issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

The default sender is set at account level, not at SMTP level. You need the two identities in account. The setting in SMTP server is just to legitimize the use of the server.

Are you seeing gmail as the sender in compose window? If so, that is NOT because of the SMTP server. That appears because you do not have an identity specified for account for the work address.
