Firefox takes a long time to load pages - version 132.0.2 - windows 10

I don't know what's happening but since a couple of days, let's say Wednesday 13th November, my firefox got incredibly slow: everytime I insert a url or a link in the address bar and press enter it takes a lot of time to completely load the website.

I tried to use Edge instead, and Edge is working flawlessly, while Firefox is not.

I also did a fresh install, wiping the %APPDATA% folders too, but nothing changes.

Setup:

  • Firefox version 132.0.2
  • on Windows 10
  • Firefox and Windows are 64 bit

Hi jonzn4SUSE, thanks for your answer, I downloaded "Load Time" and took a couple of screenshot with a Google search and with Youtube, as you can see the load time is quite long, with "DOM processing" being the culprit.

> What are your dns settings in the browser, computer, and router? Are they all the same? I never touched the settings in my browser and in my computer.

  • My computer DNS settings are set to "Obtain an IP address automatically"
  • Firefox DNS over HTTPS is not enabled
  • While trying to understand and fix this issue I set my router to use OpenDNS, but it didn't make a difference
