When will Firefox be available for Blackberry devices?
Sorry, Mozilla has no plans to create a version for Blackberry devices.
Why the f doesnt M want to snc with berry..?
See this article for information about our plans for a BlackBerry app: http://blog.mozilla.com/mobile/2010/09/28/firefox-home-looking-to-the-future/
The problem for Firefox is that there are not enough of us Blackberry users in the world. BB is so new that the tech guys don't know about it. One day when there are enough BBs, we will be able to sync. I'll have to tell this to the other hundred or so users of various BBs that I know. Be patient!
This is a real disappointment from Firefox. I'm on my Blackberry more than my laptop. Right now I'm Using Opera, instead of build in browser. I am a loyal Blackberry user. I've tried 2 different phones and have turned both in and got an updated model of blackberry. There are an accreditably amount of users of blackberry phones and it would be nice to have the option to use Firefox on them. If y'all every do decide to build a Firefox app for Blackberry I know I would diffidently be using it on my Blackberry. Since as of now there is not another brand of phone on market that I would use. I will probably always be a loyal customer. Hope to here future news of you including blackberry to your line up of mobile phones. Thank you. Sincerely, LB
Blackberry only allow Java code to be run on them. This poses a major block for us to run on a Blackberry as Firefox is mainly a C/C++ applcation. We are working on making Firefox Home work on Blackberries.

the blog link posted has no information regarding a blackberry version - is that a subtle hint that its not happening?
are you telling us that the code cannot be ported to JAVA? i know this is an open source project but i cannot image that given the development tools available the C to java port would be that problematic. an for the record the reason i use firefox is for the browser not the bookmarks or history or... its the browser that set you apart and what the users want - imho
The Firefox Home redesign is still in the internal stage. There is nothing public to show at this time. So at this time that website (it is not a blog) only announces the iOS version.
There is no way to port an application as complicated as Firefox using an automated tool. These sort of tools tend to result in a worse performance than an application written from the ground up. Additionally the code they create needs to be reviewed for correctness. There are no plans to use Java as the foundation for our code base.

I'm a bit late to this thread but the reason behind this is the lack of a native development kit for BlackBerry (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms#Other_Platforms). With RIM's announcement of a NDK for the PlayBook maybe we'll see Firefox there eventually (http://press.rim.com/release.jsp?id=4935)
why not? why is there no interest for blackberry? this is a highly used/purchased/owned cell phone...i'm not sure i will remain with firefox due to this. thank you.
Please can Mozilla update us on the progress of getting FireFox Home on Blackberry.
Last update as far as I can see was 10months ago.
Many thanks in advance
