The most recent to the Forecastfox add-on significantly reduced the usabilty of the add-on. Is there a way to permanently skip the update that comes up whenever I start Firefox? I am using 3.6.10 on MacOS X 10.5
Recently there was an update to forecastfox. For how I use it, it was a significant downgrade. I found and re-installed the previous (0.9.10) version. Now everytime I start up Firefox, I get the update box asking me to install the unwanted update. I want to be able to skip this update permanently (or at least until the app is improved).

It is possible, but the method is not simple. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Updating_add-ons#Disabling_update_checks_for_individual_add-ons_-_Advanced_users
It will be much easier to do this in Firefox 4. You will be able to use the add-ons manager to turn off automatic updates for individual add-ons.
