I could not open my firefox 4.0 after it was downloaded, it simply would not go into my feature bar
The icon is sitting on my desktop, but the application won't open. I loaded it, reloaded it. threw one away. Nothing. It is still on my desktop.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

Thanks for your help. would you recommend ten four fox over the updated version of Firefox 3.6? Or is it a wash?

Mother of God: what are you knuckleheads doing with FF4? It breaks professionally built sites. Go back to 3.whatever. And pave the cow paths before you decide to upgrade and think you know more than the rest of us schlubs.
thanks. I certainly don't think I know anything, which is why I am asking. I appreciate the advice none the less.
