On clicking to update in the the update widow, it looks to be attempting to do something but nothing downloads. I get the message to update almost everyday (3.6.16 I think). Also Firefox 4 "yahoo" won't install. On opening the application/update, it has a white circle with a line through the firefox logo, and won't drag to the applications folder.

I'm using Mac OSX10.4.11

Please try updating via Help | Check For Updates. This is usually much more efficient than trying to download manually.

After you update, please visit the Plugins Check page and update those which are necessary.

Nah, going to the admin user to attempt the update in the way you suggest just shows that firefox4 is not compatible with Mac OS 10.4.

But what I am really after os the so-called Yahoo optimised version, which in the system requirements says that 10.4 and Mac G4 is ok.

So why the issue?

In fact I had allready tried to do this install from the admin account.
