since ff5 and the google toolbar aren't compatible, I use your sear5ch box in the upper right. It doesn't open searches in a new tab and I can't find a way to make it do that. I hate, hate, hate it. If it is not possible to open searches in a new tab, can you point me to how I can go back to ff4?

Type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter.
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Filter = browser.search.openintab = double-click to toggle it to true
Then restart Firefox.
