When I open or request a page by clicking on a link I get the Exc in ev handl: TypeError: brw is undefined message every time. Until I click on the ok button the page will not open. I also now have to copy and paste page addresses almost every time I open a new firefox page. This is not happening with other browsers.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Your suggestions helped the original problem (at least for awhile) but now I have a new problem. I shot several short video clips today but have a problem trying to play them back. The first one plays OK but then the second one results in the following error: C:\Users\IrvNsf\Videos\2011-09-05 Ferries, etc. 110905\Ferries, etc. 110905 010.MOV That is followed on the next line by: Server execution failed.

I encounter this problem whenever I have the Delicious Bookmarks add-on installed. If you have that add-on installed, try uninstalling it and see if that corrects the problem for you also. That add-on doesn't seem to play well with others and also causes conflicts with add-ons such as Session Manager.

This started happening to me immediately after the last update in FF. I'm going to see if I can go back to the previous version. It started I think maybe 2 weeks ago. I should have thought FF would have addressed this by now.

Disable "McAfee Site Advisor" extension which was just updated to 3.4.0, which probably took it out of the addons block list.

  • "Ctrl+Shift+A" > find McAfee Site Advisor and use "Disable", and then restart Firefox.
  • Do a Google Search no problem
  • It seems that if you re-enable Site Advisor again, and restart Firefox you are okay. At least you know where to look if you get the error again or Google searches slow down.

This fixed the problem. I disabled all of the addons and reenabled the ones needed for my use. Thank You
