I am experiencing the same problem.

Instead of opening your Hotmail inbox using Windows Live Messenger, go to your Hotmail inbox by going to Hotmail website.

Check and tell if its working.

Hi! Yes, that is working, but I want to open my mailinbox direct from my msm as I am already logged in there and not have to logg in using hotmail everytime. It worked before but not anymore. Do you know why?

As i said earlier, I am also having this problem and have not been to fix it.

However, i have a workaround. If you want Firefox to automatically Log-in to Hotmail without typing your Username & Password again and again, do this:

-> Close Windows Live Messenger (right-click Messenger's taskbar icon and click Exit)

-> click Firefox button and click Options

  • Security panel -> place Checkmark on Remember Passwords for sites -> click Exceptions... button and click Remove All -> click Close
  • Privacy panel -> History section -> Firefox will: select "Use Custom Settings for History" -> REMOVE Checkmark from Permanent Private Browsing mode -> place Checkmarks on:
  • REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES
  • Click OK on Options window -> Restart Firefox

-> Now go to http://www.hotmail.com

  • Enter your correct Username & Password
  • place Checkmark on Keep Me Signed-in
  • click Sign-in button

Check and tell if its working.

-> IF you use Clear Recent History feature, DO NOT select Cookies, Forms and Search History, Active Logins, Site Preferences

-> IF you use Privacy Cleanup softwares like CCleaner, DON'T SELECT FIREFOX IN ITS SETTINGS. These softwares can be responsible for Deleting your Firefox Settings.
