Firefox starts NYTimes as my home page and I can't get to the firefox toolbar to disable blockers temporarily.
I can't get to the toolbar for Firefox because it starts my home page each time I open Firefox. I have opened the program folder and located the Mozilla file but that was no help. The Firefox Help pages were of no assistance because I can't get to the Firefox home page. How can I get to the Firefox home page to first disable my start-up home page choice and then temporarily disable pop-ups? Thank you, Bill

Are you saying that you don't have the Menus at the top of the Firefox window (File, Edit, View, etc.)? If that is the case:
- Press Alt on the keyboard to bring up the menus
- Click on the View menu, go down to Toolbars and select Menu Bar to make menu stay.
For more info see, Restore the Menu bar in Firefox.

Here's how to reset the default home page - How to set the home page
And here's how to block popups - Pop-up blocker settings, exceptions and troubleshooting
You may find AddBlock plus addon useful, when it comes to blocking and unblocking rules.
For instance you could have Adblock automatically let NYT create pop-ups while stopping them elsewhere.

Thanks for your answers. My problem is that I can't get to the Firefox Toolbar page to do your suggestions because each time I open Firefox it immediately opens the home page. Any suggestions on how to get to the Firefox toolbar?

That advice was helpful and I now have my Menu Bar back. Thanks
