I have credit card numbers come up as default for certain merchandise sites. I would like erase this since my kids can use them without my knowledge. What do I do?

We have imputed our credit card for certain merchandise sites for our son. It's now there automatically. Is there anyway to erase it from the memory. Or do I have to cancel the credit card?

You have a few options, none of which require you cancelling your credit card.

If you have concerns with only one or two sites then see the link Deleting individual form entries.

Otherwise, if you have concerns with several sites, see the link Clearing form history.

If you wish to stop Firefox from remembering your form entries you can turn off the auto form feature, see the link Prevent Firefox from storing form entries.

I advise you do a quick test by visiting the site in question.

Let us know how you get on.

If you would upgrade to Firefox 8 (tomorrow when it is released), you wouldn't have credit card numbers being saved at all. The Firefox 4+ versions recognize credit card numbers as such and don't save those numeric strings as form data.
