Can't Check Checkbox
We have Spam filter which is powered by Barracuda and ever since Firefox 7 update i have not been able to check the check boxes on this web page. The space where the box should be shows up, but if you hover the cursor over this box the box shows up dropped down to the right and you are unable to check the box.
This problem exists on my laptop as well as my desktop so it's no a computer specific problem.
This worked fine before version 7 update and 8 doesn't work either. This does work fine in IE 8.
I cant post the link to access the specific web page as it requires a login ID and password.

This issue is resolved by upgrading the Barracuda firmware to 5.1.
That's not a solution. Why does it still work fine in Opera, Chrome, IE, Safari? Just not in Firefox?
"Resolving" this by updating the Barracuda firmware only works if your ISP is willing to install BETA firmware on a PRODUCTION server.
Many ISPs won't do that. So the firmware upgrade isn't a "real" solution.

I have to wonder if Firefox fixed it in version 9. I doubt it since they are deflecting the blame to Barracuda.

Wow, 54 users have that problem! Mozilla should attend to this issue immediately!
I can verify it's not fixed in 9.0 either.
However, my ISP just today switched to an updated Barracuda Spam and Virus Firewall, conveniently allowing me, as an end-user to try them both. The new one is running production Firmware version 5.1.0.013 and the boxes display correctly.
Kudos to Barracuda. Problem resolved.
Nice stab at sarcasm there "the-edmeister." Are you trying to compare 54 "me too" complaints to those problems with less complaints that -have- been fixed, or those problems with several times more complaints that still haven't been fixed for the last few releases? Is the development team actually fixing anything?
If it's -not- really a problem with Firefox, but it continues to work with all the other browsers, then I think some kind of -explanation- is in order, don't you?
I can appreciate the point you are trying to make, that it doesn't seem to be "experienced" by many users, so it's not a high priority and will probably never get "fixed" the way the consumer would like to see it. I do think you could have made that point better without the sarcasm because the first knee-jerk reaction by most customers to your remarks would be to tell you off with a reference to carnal knowledge, then find another vendor. Whatever pain a customer is experiencing is the most important to -them- and they don't really care about the vendor telling them there are higher priorities, especially if the pain is focused on something that used to work before the upgrade.
I've managed software products and I can tell you if we "broke" a feature that was working in a prior release.... it wouldn't matter how many or how few complaints came in... it would get -fixed-, or -explained- why it wouldn't get fixed.
I think the new Firefox development process sucks and doesn't allow for proper management of the release or the features/bug fixes that go into it. By the time a complaint is lodged, the development team is at least two revisions into the future. And I can tell you from experience, when that starts to happen, the developers simply say it's "probably fixed" in the latest release (because they worked on -so- many other fixes and touched -so- much code they most likely fixed it without knowing it) so you'll "have" to install it to see. Then when it isn't actually fixed, the development train gets pushed off the track to actually fix it. This is -especially- the case with prior features that get broken in follow-on releases. Except Firefox doesn't apparently follow that model anymore.
Please note I don't mean to belittle the vast amount of things that -were- fixed (if they really and truly were). It's just that many of them aren't even noticeable.
So if there is a good reason it doesn't work in Firefox but does in all the other browsers, it would be good to hear.
Sorry, just a lot of hot air from me at this point, just venting more over a product I really believed in for many years now, but not so enamored with anymore. Sorry to ramble on.
Firefox doesn't need to fix this problem now since Barracuda released a production version of firmware that does. It would still be interesting to know why it was broken in Firefox but no other browser. But at this point I don't really care.
I have the same problem with www.libero.it reading my emails. I cannot select my emails checking the checkboxes. IT IS VERY ANNOYING. My only solution is using OPERA.
