When I start up Firefox, my homepage "loads" but the elements of the page never show up. There is only a white background. Switching tabs and back fixes the problem, as does minimizing and maximizing, but this problem is concerning and I would like to see it fixed in the next few versions if there isn't a solution to this problem already.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
