My Computer crashed and after it restarted Mozilla does not open. It only opens a "Mozilla Crash Reporter" box. When i click for it to "Restart Firefox" another one of the same boxes pops up. I would also like to restore firefox without loosing my bookmarks.

Hi EvieB,
sorry you are having problems

Firefox tries to retain bookmarks when you upgrade, do NOT use any option from Windows or Fierfox that offers to delete personal settings or you will destroy bookmarks. As an extra precaution manually backup your bookmarks

You appear to be using firefox 9.0.1 the current release has very recently updated to Firefox 10.0.1 One reason for that is to cure startup crashes. Download the new version, with an alternative browser and install it. It may be obtained from getfirefox.com

Post back with how you get on. If crashes continue after updating please provide new Crash Ids.

Crash details, (technical info that helps cross reference your problem) :

  • Report for Crash ID 9bc3a57b-aa15-4581-80b3-4bb122120210
    • Signature: mozalloc_abort(char const* const) | mozalloc_handle_oom() | mozilla::Preferences::GetBranch(char const*, nsIPrefBranch**)
