How can I click a link to open a new tab without automatically switching to the new tab?
I use Ixquick as my search engine. When the search result comes up, every time I click a link, Firefox creates a new tab and changes the focus from the search results page to the page for the link I clicked.
I want to have a new tab created , but I want to stay on the search results page to be able to continue clicking other tabs of interest.
I'm new to Foxfire and this functionality was very useful to me when I used Internet Explorer.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Kathy
You can start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Hello, you can do that with Ixquick search engine, only if you mouse right-click the link and select "open link in new tab", the tab will open with the new link/page and the focus remain in the main page.
thank you
Tools->Options->Tabs-> uncheck [] When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately.
I'm having a problem where whenever I install a new version of Mozilla Firefox I have to restart my computer because all i get is a tab that says NEW TAB with a blank page and no websites will open Kathy
