How to prevent all pop-ups

For some reason, every link (or javascript) I open, even on google and similar sites, opens a pop-up. It's not a malware issue, I checked with Windows Defender, Nortor, Bitdefender and Kaspersky. I know that when Firefox prevents opening pop-ups, it gives a warning and an option to allow it anyway... So, considering amount of pop-ups I use, can I prevent all pop-ups(both 'good' and 'bad') from appearing?

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/ You can configure it to ask you first when it blocks a popup and you can check if it's a "Good" or "Bad" pop-up.

What makes you think that this is not a malware problem?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

Going to a site, I will get a second Firefox page with a video ad. It has the Firefox logo, and starts running the video immediately. I have to open the second page and then close the video and page.

I've disabled pop-ups, and run most of the programs listed. Nothing there.

Where is it coming from & how do I stop it?

I also get a pop up video when I open a link to one of your recommended malware/spyware sites. Yet they don't find anything.
