For the past two days, my Firefox has stopped working. The desktop icon is there but the bookmarks are gone and when I click on the icon, only a blank page comes up. I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it both times, but both times, the next time that Firefox is opened, (several hours later) it is the same thing all over again. What is happening and how can I get this to stop?

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
