The message composition window suddenly is using a small (2-pt?) font. This happened "spontaneously" when replying to a message. It happens all the time now. When the sent message is viewed afterwards, the fonts are normal in size. When I increase the font size in the composition window, it looks huge after sending. I'm using a Mac with OS 10.9.2. Any ideas on restoring the font sizes in the composition window?

I have had odd font issues in the past, but none that survived a restart. I assume you have restarted Thunderbird?

Here's an image of the problem.

Make sure this is a reasonable size. Mine is 17

Changing the preferences didn't help. Maybe trashing the prefs and starting over?

Deleting the panacea.dat file solved the problem! Thanks, Jim

I have a slightly different problem. (Mac OS 10.9.2 MacBook Pro)

My problem is that I have "Times" font set for body text in Preferences, but when I receive a message (from a PC, I think) the incoming font is then used, when I wish to use "Times", so I have to go up and click on Times (even though it says "Times") and then also change the font size, as it is pretty small.

Is there any way to lock in the outgoing font and size? I tried using Theme Font and Size Changer, but that did not work either.

Any help appreciated. Thanks
